Scott has unveiled an all-new version of its popular Addict road bike, this time prioritizing comfort over all other attributes, resulting in a claimed 50% more compliance than its predecessor, and 25% over its more race inspired RC counterpart.

According to Scott, the new Addict underwent the knife, reshaping virtually every tube, especially the seat and top tubes, as well as the seat stays, to create slimmer profiles in order to bolster compliance. Moreover, dialing in the requisite amount flex also required the use of different composites, which depending on the model, relies on either Scott’s HMF or HMX carbon.
Elsewhere, the new Addict sees a bump in clearance, with enough room to accommodate tires up to a hefty 38mm, while geometry was also tweaked in favor of comfort as well, resulting in a slightly increased stack height, less reach, a lower bottom bracket for a better center of gravity and shorter chain stays.
Additionally, for those seeking to explore the off-road, the Addict gets a new storage compartment in the downtube, so riders cary carry essential tools and accessories. It’s also worth noting, the that Addict has also been treated to new hardware, featuring T25 bolts all-around.
Lastly, the Addict is also equipped with mounting points underneath the top tube, so riders can opt for a frame bag. Also, the Addict is now compatible with Scott’s range Syncros components, allowing the fine-tuning of touch-points and riding position to meet the cyclist’s requirements.
The Addict is available in six guises, the Addict 20, 30, 40 and 50 that are constructed with HMF carbon, and the Addict Premium and Addict 10 that feature the lighter modulus HMX, tipping the scales as light as 780 grams.
