While groupsets and components have increasingly taken on a more subdued look over the years, to the delight of traditionalists, Shimano has decided to treat its CUES 10-speed drivetrain to a special polished silver finish, celebrating the storied Japanese brand’s long heritage in metalworking.
According to Shimano, unlike past groupsets that were briefly served up with a similar finish, the polished silver CUES is here to stay, with options that span both drop bar hydraulic and mechanical disc brake setups, as well as the ability to pair the polished silver parts with existing CUES flat bar components.
Shimano has yet to provided pricing, so it remains to be seen if the polished silver CUES groupset will come at a premium over the standard black components.
