FDJ’s Thibaut Pinot won stage 5 of this year’s Tour de Romandie today.
The French rider claimed the “Queen Stage” in a solo victory, after holding off Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha) by 7 seconds to seize the penultimate stage of this year’s race.
However, the Katusha rider was unable to gain enough time in the overall classification, to takeover the race lead from Michael Albasini.
Meanwhile, Romain Bardet (AG2R-La Mondiale) drove home what remained of the chase group, to take third spot on the podium.
