Fast on the heels of its recently launched CIMA road shoe, Udog is showing-off its latest pair of kicks dubbed the CENTO, which features a fresh take on mechanical closure systems courtesy of a newly developed BOA-esque set-up.
Similar to the BOA design, Udog’s system relies on Micro Twist dials to provide tension to its Tension Wrap System 2.0. However, it’s the unique design of the dials that allows for the use of high-strength Dyneema laces instead of basic plastic or reinforced wire, allowing Udog to experiment with the positioning of dials without the worry of sacrificing strength and durability. Moreover, this also gave the Italian brand the option of trialing different size dials and surface materials before making a final decision.
Elsewhere, the CENTO is treated to the same rigid, carbon composite sole and titanium hardware as the CIMA, while directional ventilation channels ensure optimal airflow inside the shoe.
All in, Udog says the CENTO tips the scales at around 270 grams in a size 42, an impressive figure indeed.
The CENTO is sold on a pre-order basis, which will set customers back $325.00.
