Kiel Reijnen won stage 3 of this year’s USA Pro Challenge, in a sprint finish ahead of Rohan Dennis (BMC Racing Team) and Ruben Zepuntke (Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling Team) in downtown Aspen today.
With less than a kilometer to go, Reijnen, delivered UnitedHeathcare its first stage win with a well-timed sprint on the line.
However, Reijnen’s slim margin of victory, was not enough to bump BMC from its top position.
Indeed, Brent Bookwalter retained the yellow jersey while his teammate Rohan Dennis took second, followed by Cannondale-Garmin’s Ruben Zeptunke in third spot in the overall classification.
Bookwalter now holds a slight six-second lead over his BMC teammate Dennis, followed by UnitedHealthcare’s Jonny Clarke and Caja Rural-Seguros’ Hugh Carthy, both at 10 seconds back.
