Vision has rolled out its latest tubeless-ready wheelset dubbed the SC 48 i25, offering an all-around set of hoops that are equally at home on the road as they are traversing gravel at a price that won’t fleece your wallet.
As its name implies, the SC 48 i25 features a 48mm rim profile with a 25mm internal width, providing plenty of fitment to accommodate tires spanning anything from 28mm to rubber north of 50mm, while things spin on Vision’s V-200 hubs that are laced with 24 aero-blade spokes in a 2:1 cross pattern.
“The new SC 48 i25 features an internal hooked channel that’s optimized for wide tires, making it the ideal hybrid wheelset for both for road and gravel use. The 24 aero-bladed spokes with a 2:1 cross pattern are laced onto straight-pull hubs. The rear freehub, fitted on the best-selling V-200 Vision hub, features an improved pawl system, updated design without bearing preload adjustment but with press-fit end caps, to improve reliability and make it more maintenance-friendly,” boasts Vision.
All in, Vision says the SC 48 i25 tips the scales at 1,590 grams, a weight that might not win any plaudits from the weight weenies faction, but at $1,299.00, they’ll surely get the nod from your checkbook.
The SC 48 i25 is compatible with Shimano, Campagnolo and SRAM freehubs.
