State Bicycle Co. Launches Its First Geared Bicycle Called the “4130 Road”

State Bicycle Co has launched its first geared bicycle called the 4130 Road, paying homage to the classic road bike with clean lines and distinctive colorways the American brand has become known for.

“The 4130 Road adds in massive versatility for all kinds of drop-bar riders with a simple-yet-effective 8-speed drivetrain and clearance for 25-32mm wide tires,” says State Bicycle Co.

Built on a lightweight double-butted Chromoly steel frame, the 4130 Road is ideally equipped for commuters, with room for fenders over its  25mm tires, as well as fittings for luggage racks both front and rear.

Additionally, the 4130 Road is equipped with an 8-speed drivetrain that relies on classic downtube shifting, a choice that both harks back to vintage bikes of yesterday, while also making for a durable, low-maintenance shifting system.

Topping off the drivetrain is the CNC-machined crankset with a single chainring in a classic aluminum finish.

More vintage-inspired flair comes from the brake levers, hubs, pad holders and saddle, all of which were considered for both performance and aesthetics, making the 4130 Road both lightweight and adding to its visual appeal. Furthermore, the 4130 Road’s lightweight wheels are capable of handling tires up to 35mm, a nod to the way drop-handlebar bikes were equipped back in the day.

“The 4130 Road, provides an exceptionally affordable and versatile platform for riders who love their clean, timeless aesthetic but need the gears to conquer the hills,” says State Bicycle Co.

The 4130 Road retails for $549.99 and it’s available in five sizes ranging from 49cm, 52cm, 55cm, 59cm and 62cm, along with two colorways.
