3T Flaunts New “Made in Italy” Range of Electric Gravel Bikes

3T is flaunting a new range of “Made in Italy” electric gravel bikes, capitalizing on its RaceMax, Extrema and Ultra platforms to deliver what the Italian brand promises “are bikes capable of everything from fast gravel to the most extreme terrain”.

At the heart of the new e-gravel series is a Mahle X-20 rear-hub electric motor with a 350Wh battery that can provide a travel distance as much as 90+ miles (150 km) for a 165 pound (75kg) rider, all-the-while tackling elevation gains upwards of 65,000+ feet (2,000m ) with a top speed of 15.5mph (25 km/h).

“Our engineers and technicians have worked to bring the unmistakable riding feel of their aero-gravel bikes to the electric range. The chosen system is the Mahle X-20, customized for 3T. It is lightweight, provides smooth and natural assistance and creates no resistance when not in use. In addition, the Mahle motor — being especially light and positioned in the rear hub — offers a progressive, fluid power delivery that keeps the pedaling motion natural and enjoyable,” boasts 3T.

As mentioned, the range is predicated on 3T’s RaceMax, Extrema and Ultra models, aptly dubbed the e-RaceMax, e-Extrema and e-Ultra.

The e-Racemax is aimed at riders who are looking for the perfect bike for fast off-road riding and road use, which can “transition effortlessly from asphalt to rough cobblestones”, while the e-Extrema is the go-to all-terrain variant that’s capable of handling the most technical single-track terrain thanks to its ability to accommodate tires up to a hefty 57mm.

In the case of the e-Ultra, it’s designed for more challenging off-road riding, placing the rider in a slightly more upright position for added comfort. Moreover, its flat-bar capabilities make a versatile option for urban cyclists as well.

The e-RaceMax and e-Extrema come equipped with either a SRAM RIVAL XPLR AXS or a SRAM RED AXS 1×12 groupset that’s fitted with DISCUS 45/40 wheels, with prices ranging from $9,899 to $14,399, while the e-Ultra is available in a wide-range of groupsets that span SRAM Rival XPLR AXS , APEX Eagle, Eagle AXS or Force D1 AXS, which fetches between $6,599 to $7,699.
