LUCAS BRUNELLE GOES TO AFRICA

(ING) Cinelli and Tour d’Afrique collaborate on a ride that Lucas Brunelle, Chas Christiansen, and Dario Toso complete from Namibia to South Africa.  These riders descend a 1,200 foot dune into fossilized trees and clay, street race in Cape Town, ride through an abandoned buildings, and see amazing wildlife.

(ESP) Cinelli y el Tour d’Afrique colaboran con una travesía en la que Lucas Brunelle, Chas Christiansen y Dario Toso realizan desde Namibia hasta Sud Africa.  Estos ciclistas descienden por una duna de 1200 pies hasta llegar a un bosque petrificado y terreno de arcilla, solamente para después realizar una carrera urbana en la ciudad de Cape Town, rodando por edificios abandonados y observando increíble vida silvestre.

(ING) Last summer in Queens, NY a group of imaginative tinkerers from Trinidad created something no one had ever seen before: enormous stereo systems jury rigged onto ordinary bmx bikes. Traveling together they treat the neighborhood to an outrageous impromptu music and dance party on wheels.

(ESP) El verano pasado, en Queens, New York, un grupo de imaginativos y hábiles artesanos de Trinidad crearon algo que nadie había visto antes: un enorme equipo de sonido montado sobre bicicletas BMX ordinarias.  Viajando juntos, ellos presentan a su barrio una increíble mezcla de música improvisada y fiesta sobre ruedas.

(ING) A man, coming to terms with the loss of his son, works a branch into a perfect block of wood and installs it into a velodrome track as a memorial.  He rides the track on his son’s bike, making the journey his son never could.  Boy stars respected British actor Timothy Spall, whose works include Secrets and Lies and Harry Potter.

(ESP) Un hombre, al estar en el proceso de aceptación de la pérdida de su hijo, trabaja con un pedazo de madera hasta convertirlo en un bloque perfecto de madera, y lo instala en un Velódromo en memoria de su hijo.  El pedalea la pista en la bicicleta de su hijo, completando el viaje que su hijo nunca pudo completar.  “Niño” está protagonizada por el reconocido actor británico Timothy Spall, cuyos trabajos incluyen “Secrets and Lies” y “Harry Potter”.

BIKE FOR BREAD

(ING) Over a solid half-century, Cairo has invented an unusual means of delivering bread. The city’s cyclists zoom up one-way streets against endless lines of cars, slipping between the rows of chairs of a café, and disappearing into a bazaar. One hand serves to balance a wooden rack on their heads, bearing hundreds of rounds of bread, and the other rests on the handlebars.

(ESP) Por más de medio siglo, en Cairo se han inventado formas muy inusuales para entregar pan.  Los ciclistas de esta ciudad pedalean rápidamente por vías de un solo sentido, en contra de interminables filas de automóviles, sorteando entre sillas de los cafés, y desapareciendo en un bazaar.  Una mano es utilizada para sostener la canasta de madera sobre sus cabezas, llena de cientos de panes, y la otra mano firmemente agarrada al volante.
