Rapha has added to its 2015 Pro Team range, a new Softshell jacket, base layer,
"booties", knee and arm warmers, to thwart winter’s chill.

A highly technical wet-weather race jacket
The research and development process for the Pro Team Softshell Jacket was the most challenging and intensive of any Rapha product.
The result is the most advanced race-ready jacket in the world. This is a jacket for riders who seek the highest levels of performance in wet conditions, when a race cape would be too constricting and a jersey too exposed to the elements.
The fabric is an extension of Rapha’s softshell concept, incorporating two thin layers, separated by a membrane, to create a fabric that is breathable, highly water resistant, insulating, but retains a soft and comfortable feel against the skin. The seams are fully taped, and laser cut ventilation holes under the arms allows air to circulate.
The fit is in line with the Pro Team collection, with a slim and close fit suited to a low riding position.

A new design to protect racers in the foulest weather
Recognising most racers need their team kit clearly visible, this softshell layer with a water-repellent (DWR) treatment can be worn under any jersey for fast rides in wet and changeable conditions. The Pro Team Softshell Base Layer is constructed from two fabrics – a high-stretch, 3-ply membrane for the front and rear panels, and a lighter fabric under the arms. The fabric’s pliability gives a great range of movement and comfort against the skin.
Flatlock stitched seams prevent chafing, and high-visibility details at the cuff and collar catch the eye in low-light conditions. The seams are taped at critical points along the shoulders and sleeves to prevent water penetration. This product’s development cycle included being worn to top–25 placings at British Elite Road Series races. As with all Rapha Pro Team products, the Softshell Base Layer has race-ready tailoring, with a raised front hem for a better fit while in the drops.
Low-profile softshell overshoe for cold and wet conditions
Traditional neoprene overshoes are ill-suited to racing and training, with their high saturated weight, bulky fit, and lack of breathability. The Pro Team Overshoe uses the same fabric as the Pro Team Softshell Jacket to overcome these problems, creating an overshoe that’s suitable for high-tempo efforts in cold and wet conditions.
The high-stretch fabric allows for a low-profile and aerodynamic fit, while taped critical seams and a water-resistant zip maximise weather protection. A durable sole panel prevents wear and tear from road grit, while pre-cut cleat and heel holes allow for grip when walking. Finished with high-visibility details.
For racing and training in wet and cold conditions
High-quality arm warmers provide versatility to an outfit when racing or training – keeping a rider warm and dry when the weather turns foul, and easily fitting into a pocket when the temperatures or tempo increases.
Following the lead of the Pro Team Softshell Base Layer, the arm warmers have a durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment on the front panels, which are also windproof. The rear panels are made from a high-performance, breathable stretch fabric that allows for temperature regulation and an improved fit.
Finished with flatlock seams to prevent chafing, an aggressive cut shaped for riding in the drops, and high-visibility details. A perfect pairing for the Pro Team Softshell Base Layer for spring racing and training.
