Timex has partnered with AT&T, to launch a new GPS sports watch, that doesn’t require the peripherals of a phone to make it work.
While Timex’s new One GPS+ device is mainly aimed at the running segment, it does allow cyclists to receive phone messaging, live tracking and access music files – again without the need of a phone or a music player.
What’s in it for AT&T ?
One year of wireless data service, that’s what. But, there’s always a catch. AT&T must be (or become) your phone service provider.
The One GPS + retails for $399, with the option of adding heart-rate for an additional $50.
