After more than three years of testing alongside pro riders Lorena Zocca, Mirko Tabacchi and others, Alpitude has unveiled its latest saddle dubbed the Navene, which is aimed at both on-road and off-road exploits, borrowing heavily from the boutique Italian brand’s Gardena road model.
Maintaining a length of 245 mm for a short fit, the nose has been subtly widened to enhance comfort during intense efforts, while a large central hole with an exhaust at the front carries over from the Gardena.
So, what sets it apart from the road version?
Firstly, the edges have been reinforced significantly, approximately 2.5 times more robust than before, while the rear is now closed to prevent the snagging of material when riding out of the saddle on descents. In addition, the rails have been redesigned and strengthened in the front area, extending the flat section to enhance overall rigidity.
The Navene saddle comes in two widths, 130mm and 142mm, along with finish options in 3K twill, UD and 1K plain for a personalized touch. Also, weighing in at just 73 grams for the 130 mm version and 77 grams for the 142 mm version, it features more meticulous bonding at the rails for a better finish.
Like all of its saddles, the Navena is 100% handmade at Alpitude’s workshop in Parrocchia di Vallarsa.
