CADEX Introduces Max 50 WheelSystem and Aero Tire

CADEX has introduced its latest Max 50 WheelSystem and Aero Tire, combining ultra-lightweight efficiency with exceptional stiffness and system-level aerodynamic gains courtesy of a fully integrated rim, spoke and hub design.

Weighing just 1290 grams, the Max 50 WheelSystem pairs an optimized 50mm hookless aero rim with integrated CADEX Super Aero carbon spokes and a thin aero hub flange to reduce drag and improve power transfer, while the brand’s Dynamic Balanced Lacing widens the spoke bracing angle and stabilizes spoke tension under load for greater transmission stiffness compared to the  traditionally configured Ultra 50wheel.

The result is an aero WheelSystem that accelerates  sharply, carries speed efficiently, and responds immediately during attacks, sprints and hard efforts.

Additionally, a wide 22.4mm inner rim width further enhances real-world aerodynamic efficiency by optimizing tire shape and airflow integration, while also improving handling stability and confidence across varied road conditions.

“With the Max 50, we focused on how speed actually feels and performs in real riding  conditions,” said Jeff Schneider, Global Head of Product and Marketing for CADEX. “By  engineering the rim, spokes, and hub as a single system, we were able to reduce drag, increase  efficiency, and improve responsiveness in a way riders can feel immediately—whether they’re  sprinting, climbing, or attacking on rolling terrain.”

Designed to complement the Max 50 WheelSystem, the new Aero Tire further improves  aerodynamic efficiency. A taller, wider aero shape with refined shoulder grooves smooths airflow and reduces drag, while the 240 TPI casing lowers rolling resistance and cuts weight for  faster acceleration and responsiveness. The tires also feature proven Race Shield puncture  protection, providing reliable durability without compromising speed or ride quality.

“Together, the Max 50 WheelSystem and CADEX Aero Tire form a complete performance system engineered for today’s racing demands—where efficiency, control, and sustained speed matter as much as outright aerodynamic gains,” adds Schneider.

The CADEX Max 50 WheelSystem and CADEX Aero Tire will be available soon in select markets worldwide.

KEY FEATURES

  • 50mm Aero Rim Profile – A deep 50mm rim profile maximizes aerodynamic efficiency, reducing drag for sustained high-speed performance in race conditions.
  • Integrated Max Hub And Spoke Technology – A one-piece hub, flange, spoke, and rim structure forms a fully integrated system that minimizes drag, smooths airflow, and maximizes real-world efficiency at speed.
  • Precision Reinforced Carbon Layup – High-tensile fibers are strategically placed only where needed to create a strong, torsionally stiff structure while minimizing overall weight.
  • CADEX Super Aero Carbon Spokes – High-tensile integrated carbon spokes with hidden nipples and independent internal tensioning minimize lateral flex for efficient acceleration and responsive climbing.
  • Dynamic Balanced Lacing (DBL) – A wider bracing angle and balanced spoke tension under pedaling load result in a stiffer wheel with outstanding power transfer and  handling precision.
  • 22.4mm Inner Width – A wide 22.4mm internal rim creates a more efficient tire profile with an increased contact patch, improving sidewall support and confident handling at speed.
  • CADEX R3-C48 Aero Hub – An aerodynamic hub design with a 48-tooth ratchet delivers fast, direct engagement for immediate power transfer during accelerations and surges.
  • Ratchet Wave Spring System – A wave spring design ensures consistent, balanced ratchet engagement, resulting in smoother operation and improved rolling efficiency.
  • CADEX Hookless Rim Technology – An optimized carbon layup and hookless rim design reduce weight while improving durability and tire stability under high-speed loads.
  • In-Mold Carbon Graphics – CADEX logos are integrated directly into the carbon surface for a clean, premium finish with no decals, no added weight, and no risk of fading.
