Ciamillo is dazzling the weight weenies faction with its latest super-lightweight crankset called the Gravitas Gen 1, which tips the scales at an astonishingly light 279 grams, claiming to be the world’s lightest crankset of its kind.
The Gravitas Gen 1 gets its gravity defying weight thanks to hollow carbon fiber crankarms and a removable carbon spindle with alloy bearing faces.
Since the Gravitas Gen 1 is custom made, Ciamillo can incorporate different bottom bracket standards that will fit SRAM’s DUB spindle design, as well as other 30mm configurations, with crankarms available in lengths of 170mm and 172.5mm only.
Additionally, the Gravitas Gen 1’s spider is full carbon as well, which integrates directly into the crankarm, with both 2x and 1x compatible versions being offered.
However, customers will have to select their own chainrings, as Ciamillo doesn’t offer any.
Not surprisingly, all of this lightweight tech comes with the hefty price tag of $1,888, along with a rider weight limit of 110 kg.
