Cinelli and Oakley Team Up on New Sunglasses

Cinelli and Oakley have teamed up on a new collection of sunglasses that comprise the Latch Panel, the Eye Jacket Redux Cinelli and Nemo Gravel bike (sadly, not for sale) that are brought to life by cyclist Taylor Phinney who the Italian brand says “embodies the spirit of adventure and a unique perspective on cycling that transcends traditional notions of endurance and performance”.

The Latch Panel features a full-rim, a shield lens and Oakley’s Latch hinge, offering a game-changing solution for on-the-go eyewear storage. “When you’re ready to focus or just want to block out glare, slide on the removable side shields to block out distractions,” boasts Oakley.

Cinalli says it decided to take things a step further by treating the new shades to a race-worn appearance courtesy of Oakley’s Bio-Matter, giving the Latch Panel a patina-ed look that “tells a story of passion and dedication, an emblem for the hard work, commitment and fatigue of gravel cyclist”, while the Prizm Road black lenses enhance contrast on the road surface and give extra protection. Also, the Unobtainium nose pads have been optimized to provide a no-slip grip and increase retention, along with thin temples that fit under a hat or helmet and a removable leash to help keep them secure.

Inspired by the original Eye Jacket, the Eye Jacket Redux features the same bold oval silhouette that first hit the scene in 1994, updated with today’s revolutionary technologies, including Prizm lens technology.

Additionally, to add a rebellious touch to the equation, the Eye Jacket Redux is given an off-white race-worn finish called O Matter, which similarly tells a story of passion and dedication in a nod to gravel cyclists, along with Oakley’s Prizm grey lenses, Unobtainium nose pads and ear socks that provide no-slip grip and increased retention as well.

Both the Latch Panel and the Eye Jacket Redux come with a custom micro bag and box sleeve, which sell for €224,00 and €182,00, respectively.
