Classified has announced that its Powershift hub now integrates with Shimano Di2 thanks to a new firmware update that syncs with the Japanese component giant’s Connected Partners program.
As a result, riders can now control the Classified Powershift Hub directly from Shimano Di2 via the free Classified app, eliminating the need for a separate button.
Once paired, riders can then use Shimano’s E-Tube Project app to configure a shifter to the correct D-Fly channels, while riders can also set a single button to toggle between the two gears in the Powershift hub, or use two buttons ( i.e. one “up” and one for “down” shifts) for shifting as well.
Additionally, if desired, Classified also says Di2 satellite buttons can be configured to shift the Powershift hub as well.
However, Classified points out that its Powershift hub is currently not compatible with Shimano’s Synchronized Shift settings, which enables a Di2 front derailleur to be controlled automatically, leaving the rider to simply select “easier” or “harder” gears. Moreover, Classified cautions riders to use a chain guide when using a rear derailleur without a clutch, such as the case with Shimano 105 Di2 R7100, Ultegra Di2 R8100 or Dura-Ace Di2 R9200 groupsets.
“We are proud to announce this milestone collaboration. Shimano Di2 users can now experience the full performance and simplicity of Powershift without compromise. This breakthrough development in compatibility brings our hub technology closer to riders who demand both efficiency and innovation in their drivetrains,” says Mathias Plouvier, CEO of Classified.
Key benefits include:
1x Simplicity, 2x Functionality: With Powershift and Di2 groupset collaboration, riders can enjoy the benefits of a 2x system whilst retaining the chainline efficiency and durability of a 1x set-up
- Fast, reliable shifting under full load: Instant Powershift functionality under full load, now activated through Di2 shifters
- Simplified set-up: No additional buttons, remotes or accessories required
- Cross-Platform connectivity: Riders can connect their Shimano groupset to the Classified system via the Classified app and adjust personal preferences through Shimano’s E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist app.
