Happy birthday to Dino Zandegù, who was born on this day in 1940.
The Italian rider is best known for winning the Points Jersey 1967 Giro d’Italia, as well as the prestigious 1967 Tour of Flanders Classic.
In addition, Zandegù won three stage in the 1966 Tirreno-Adriatico, a stage in the 1970 Tour de Suisse, a stage in the 1969 Paris-Nice, as well as the World Championships – Men’s Team Time Trial in 1962.
Zandegù also won several stage victories in lesser known races throughout Italy during his career, before retiring from racing in 1972.
