ENVE Announces New Hex Gravel Tire

ENVE has announced its latest gravel-specific tire dubbed the Hex, which is designed for all-around performance thanks to its unique hexagonal tread block that can flex and conform to the terrain during a variety of conditions.

Additionally, the new tire features a chafer strip at the tire bead for greater pinch-flat protection, along with a sub-tread barrier that offers further anti-flat protection without diminishing rolling efficiency or ride quality.

Elsewhere, the Hex’s Kevlar bead is optimized for hookless rims, while doubling up the sidewall tread for increased cornering traction, as well as decreased tearing. Also, there are outward side nobs of various sizes and angles that create articulating tread blocks to increase cornering traction, while decoupled tread blocs enable the casing to flex and conform to terrain, maximizing traction and rolling performance.

Lastly, the hexagonal block shape allows a three-way flex pattern to add casing suppleness to conform to varied surfaces including a “cat tongue” tread pattern that provides both enhanced rolling and braking traction.

The Hex weighs 430 grams in size 40mm and 450 grams for the 44mm version, which sell for $75.00.
