FiftyOne Bikes Defies Gravity with New Sika Road Bike

FiftyOne Bikes has set out to defy gravity with the launch of its new Sika road bike, tipping the tips at a feathery 690 grams, while blurring the lines between endurance and performance with a geometry that’s aimed at the enthusiast who prefers a not-too-aggressive riding position.

According to FiftyOne Bike’s founder, Aidan Duff, the Sika gets its svelte silhouette courtesy of “carefully selected” ultra-high modulus Toray carbon, striking the perfect balance between lightweight and strength, making the Sika equally at home along the parcours as it is on the climbs.

Ride quality was also a key consideration when developing the Sika, which accommodates tires up to a whopping 40mm, availing the bike to shortlived off-road exploits should the tarmac run out in places.

Additionally, the Sika relies on a T47 bottom bracket for reliability and ease of service, along with full integration for a clean, stealthy look.

The Sika frameset sells for $4500, which comes with FiftyOne Bike’s in-house one-piece stem and handlebar, as well as seatpost and computer mount.
