Fulcrum made waves last summer when it first introduced its SHARQ wheelset, dazzling enthusiasts with its bold 2-wave rim profile. Now, the Italian brand has gone deeper, extending the SHARQ range to include a more aero optimized version that increases the rim profile to an undulating 57-62mm.
“The new SHARQ 57 is the natural evolution of the wheel that refined the concept of performance on the road. It’s the new reference point for those looking for speed, precision and reliability – in all conditions and on any route. With its optimized 2-wave rim profile, combined with A30RO spokes and prestigious USB ceramic bearings, it combines smoothness, stability and comfort at just 1,520 grams, while offering a more refined ride feel compared to traditional high-profile rims,” says Fulcrum.
At the center of the new SHARQ 57, is Fulcrum’s 3D approach to aerodynamics, which comprises inner and outer symmetrical and asymmetrical wave profiles that are designed to smooth airflow both frontally and during crosswinds – especially with wider tire applications.
“Wind tunnel and road tests have shown that with 30 mm tires there is a 10% improvement in aerodynamic efficiency compared to the SHARQ 42, at 45 km/h. SHARQ 57 is therefore faster in real world conditions,” boasts Fulcrum.
The new SHARQ 57 sells for $2,800, which is available with either a Shimano HG, MicroSpline, SRAM XDR or Campagnolo N3W freehub body.
