Here’s a Good Reason to Wear a Helmet

Here’s a good reason to wear a helmet, as captured by this recent video. 

This unlucky mountain biker went “ass over teakettle”, after clearing a couple of hurdles in the woods. Fortunately for him, he was wearing a helmet, while other cyclists were close by to render aid. 

In this case, it didn’t take much to sustain a serious head injury, even after the helmet took the brunt of the impact.

One can only imagine a worse fate this rider would have suffered, had he not been wearing a helmet.  

The man taking the video, Tim Roswell, had this to say:

“It doesn’t take much to get quite a severe head injury and that’s why I want people to see it. If you wear a helmet it can save your life and I genuinely believe that he would have been in a lot worse a state if he hadn’t been wearing a helmet at the time.

“He was incredibly lucky and you can see at the end of the video that the helmet took the main impact and really was quite badly damaged. It was an old helmet, which he hadn’t used for a couple of years, but it did the job.”
