HUNT is defying gravity with the launch of its latest range of Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc wheelsets, which tip the scales at a mere 1,175 grams in their lowest profile.
What makes them so light?
Instead of using its ultra-wide “Limitless” rim technology, HUNT says it decided to go with a more conventional construction, relying on a hooked rim design with only a 22mm internal width, with the goal of striking the perfect balance between weight, ride application and aerodynamics.
Additionally, as the title implies, aerodynamics also played an important role when developing the new Aerodynamicist, which involved no fewer than 47,000 hours of computational fluid dynamics and extensive wind-tunnel testing over a three-year period, resulting in a claimed 1.4-watt saving over its predecessor.
The Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc wheelsets are availabale in depths of 34/34, 44/46 and 54/58, which sell for $1,449.00, $1,479.0099 and $1499.00, respectfully, while the wheels can also be fitted with HUNT’s TaperLock unidirectional carbon spokes, albeit with a price increase of $400 across all models.
