As the 5th edition of the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships approach, MyWhoosh has officially released the schedule for the public qualifiers, providing aspiring athletes around the world the opportunity to compete on the global stage.
In parallel with the National Federation selections, MyWhoosh will conduct its public qualifiers, ensuring every eligible rider has a chance to represent their country.
Public Qualifiers: Schedule, Format and Participation
MyWhoosh will host four public qualifier events in August. These races are open to all users who meet MyWhoosh’s verification standards, to ensure fair racing.
Schedule:
Qualifier Format and Ruleset:
Each public qualifier consists of a single-stage, 32.4km race held across multiple time zones and dates to accommodate global participation. The format includes two sprint and two climb segments (KOM/QOM), with points awarded to the first riders to cross each segment line – this also marks a shift from the time-based scoring system used in the previous edition.
Participants may compete in one or all four qualifiers. Top riders from each gender category will then advance to the semi-finals of the 2025 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships.
All participating riders must adhere to the allocated ruleset and pre-verification process before the open qualifiers. Riders who have competed in the Sunday Race Club at least once within the last six months are considered pre-verified and eligible to race the qualifiers.
Selection Process and Results:
The results of the open qualifiers, including the list of riders advancing to the semi-finals, will be announced in September 2025, following the confirmation of the list of nominated athletes submitted by the national federations. MyWhoosh will allocate semi-final spots to the highest-ranking participants from the open qualifiers who have not been selected by their respective federations.
In addition, supplementary races may be organised in September, providing a final chance to earn their spot in the semi-finals.
Semi-Finals and Live Finals:
On conclusion of both the national and public qualifiers, 150 men and 150 women will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for 3 October 2025. The semi-finalists will compete in a three-stage event, following the same race format as the live finale of the championships. All riders in the semi-final stage must be affiliated with their respective national federations.
The top 20 riders in each gender category will receive an official invitation to compete in the Live Finals, which will take place on 15 November 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
