To the thrill of gravelers and bikepackers everywhere, Cinelli has upped the off-road exploration capabilities of its nearly indestructible HoBootleg with launch of the HoBootleg Geo.
Indeed, retaining the DNA of the original Cinelli HoBootleg, the HoBootleg Geo has been tweaked to excel at single-track and technical mountain riding, thriving beyond where the trail ends and the GPS drops out.
Aimed at modern expedition riders, the HoBootleg Geo’s comfortable, gusset-reinforced steel frame features geometry derived from classic rigid mountain bikes, relying on shorter stems, wide drop bars and zero-offset seatposts to bolster comfort and stability. Moreover, designed to carry everything riders could possibly need to explore the great expanse, Cinelli’s technical team has ensured that the new HoBootleg Geo geometry features significant space for bulky luggage.
“Specced with a blended mix of Shimano’s Cues 1×11 groupset with hydraulic disc brakes, BSA threaded bottom bracket, external cable routing, wheels comprising WTB ST rims laced to reliable, maintainable Shimano hubs, and durable, versatile WTB Ranger tires, all components have been selected for their robust, repair or replace qualities to keep you rolling,” assures Cinelli.
Additionally, the HoBootleg Geo comes with a dynamo-ready full carbon Columbus Futura Adventure fork with a multi-rake system for either a more responsive or easier to handle ride depending on the route ahead, with the option of either 45mm or 50 mm rake. Plus, for those looking to take things a step further, the frame is front suspension ready, while semi-integrated dropper seatpost cable routing, UDH compatible rear dropouts and tire clearance of up to 29″ x 3″ further bolster the bike’s ruggedness.
Also, whether going fully laden or traveling light, the HoBootleg Geo is equipped with all the fixing points any adventurer could need courtesy of a 6-eyelet fork, rear pannier rack mounts, 5 downtube mounts (3 above, 2 below), 2 seatpost mounts, and fender mounts.
“We’ve fine-tuned the HoBootleg Geo over a three-year testing period with our adventure ambassadors. We wanted to build a bike which is ready to tackle your most extreme rides straight out of the box. It’s ready to match whatever you throw at it and we can’t wait to see which remote corners of the globe riders venture to,” boasts Victor Luis, Chairman of Cinelli.
Elsewhere, the HoBootleg Geo features Cinelli’s own Adventure Curve flared handlebar (the same high quality model as the recently launched Speciale Gravel) and a no-nonsense alloy stem and 27.2mm seatpost, along with a Selle Royal off road-appropriate short-nose SRX saddle.
The new HoBootleg Geo is available in Desert Mud color, with framesets available from €1,300, or as complete bike starting from €2,500.
