New Schmolke TLO 50 Wheeslet Tips the Scales at 940 Grams

Schmolke’s new TLO 50 has been crowned the lightest 50mm wheelset on the market, tipping the scales at a svelte 940 grams, more than 200 grams lighter than its competitor when it comes to a disc-brake tubeless set of hoops.

What makes them so light?

In addition to its lightweight unidirectional carbon rims, the top-tier variant of the TLO 50 spins on Extralite CyberFront SPD-3 and CyberRear SPD-3 hubs with HyperCeramic bearings, which weigh in at feathery 66 grams and 146 grams, respectively.

Elsewhere, the TLO 50 features an internal rim width of 25mm and an external width of 32.5mm, an ideal profile to get on terms with the popular trend of running 28mm and above tires.

The TLO 50 comes with a hefty price tag of €3,050 to €3,600, depending on the specification.
