Heroes, great races and jerseys
As a teenager, Paul Smith held dreams of becoming a professional cyclist before a bad crash put his hopes on hold and fashion took over his life. The Briton remained entranced with the sport and has been an astute observer of road racing since the 1970s, becoming friends with the likes of Mark Cavendish, Sir Bradley Wiggins and David Millar. Smith has lovingly prepared this scrapbook to illustrate the beauty and glory of the sport, with over 400 images and illustrations throughout its 256 pages.
A personal and highly visual journey that connects Smith’s love of cycling with his love of design, the scrapbook is peppered with charming personal stories, supported by images from the designer’s ever-growing collection of cycling jerseys and his extensive library of cycling publications of the 1950s and 1960s. Even those with only a passing interest in cycling and design cannot fail to be thrilled by what lies within these pages.
