PikaBoost 2 Turns Any Bike Into an eBike

LIVALL introduced the original PikaBoost back in 2022, a simple battery-powered motor that could attach to any bike, quickly turning it into a more versatile eBike. Now, the small tech firm has announced the launch of its sequel aptly called the PikaBoost 2, offering the same design as its predecessor, but with a more powerful motor, better range, an anti-theft design and swappable batteries.

Like the previous model, the 6.6-pound PikaBoost 2 takes under a minute to attach, relying on a v-shaped roller that’s powered by a robust 250w that can propel most bikes upwards of 20mph.

Additionally, the PikaBoost 2 comes with a 158Wh battery as standard, offering a range of up to 43 miles (70km ), along with an optional 220Wh battery for longer distances. Moreover, the same regenerative braking capabilities have been carried over, adding even more range.

Elsewhere, the PikaBoost 2 offers the following four power assistance modes:

  • Workout Mode with added resistance,
  • Eco Mode provides assistance only on inclines
  • Power Assist Mode that offers “balanced support”
  • Cruise Mode that provides continuous, steady power, regardless of whether or not the rider is pedaling

Available in two guises, a basic version of the PikaBoost 2 can be had for $282 on LIVALL’s Indiegogo page, while the Endurance version will set buyers back $388.
