Prologo Offers New SCRATCH M5 PAS 3DMSS Saddle

Prologo has expanded its range of 3D-printed saddles with the launch of the SCRATCH M5 PAS 3DMSS, which capitalizes on the Italian brand’s original Scratch M5 but with all of the latest technology that additive manufacturing has to offer.

“The SCRATCH M5 PAS 3DMSS, a multi-disciplinary saddle with a racing spirit, thanks to its round shape provides extra support to the lumbar area. It has successfully enhanced, in a 3D version, all the qualities of the iconic Scratch M5 PAS, a model already used by champions like Jonas Vingegaard, Egan Bernal, Sepp Kuss, Wout Poels, John Degenkolb, Romain Bardet, and Magnus Cort,” boasts Prologo.

The new SCRATCH M5 PAS 3DMSS features Prologo’s MSS (Multi-Sector System) technology, an innovative 3D-printing process that encompasses digital light projection, oxygen-permeable optic and engineering-grade materials to produce intricate polymer parts that bolster both the saddle’s functional properties as well as durability, allowing for the development of three separate sectors along each side of the saddle that are designed to adapt to the rider’s “morphology”.
Moreover, each sector features a double upper and lower layer, with different complex geometric shapes, varying densities and differentiated elastic properties that respond to changes in pressure in order to adjust “volume” throughout the entire length of the saddle.

“The SCRATCH M5 PAS 3DMSS is the result of the Pressure Map MyOwn test analysis, Prologo’s proprietary system that allowed a scientific study of the pressure areas exerted on the saddle by both professional and non-professional cyclists. The collected data helped design and create two extremely lightweight 3D saddles, with covers made of separate sectors that adapt perfectly to different pressure areas, ensuring maximum support and comfort throughout the entire pedaling phase,” explains Prologo.

Additionally, the new perch also comprises Prologo’s PAS technology ( Perineal Area System), featuring a substantial cutout that’s aimed at providing pressure relief in key areas, while the base itself is constructed from long-fiber injected carbon for optimal weight, rigidity and comfort. Also, the SCRATCH M5 PAS 3DMSS can be spec’d with either nano carbon fiber or lightweight Tirox rails.

The new SCRATCH M5 PAS 3DMSS will be available starting in May, with the carbon and alloy railed versions selling for $437 and $325, respectively.
