Repente Launches New 3D Printed Nomad 3D Saddle

Repente has launched its latest 3D printed saddle apply called the NOMAD 3D, combining the performance of additive technology with the functionality and aesthetics of a covered saddle.

Differentiated densities for optimal comfort

One of the most critical aspects in designing a high-performance saddle is managing the loads and pressures that accumulate during long rides or competitions. Nomad 3D was developed to offer calibrated and differentiated support capable of preventing pain and discomfort even after many hours in the saddle.

The density of the padding has been modulated to adapt to various pressure zones. Under the sit bones, the material is more rigid to ensure stability and structural support. In the soft tissue areas, the density is reduced to provide superior flexibility and improve load distribution.

Three areas have been identified, each corresponding to different morphologies and densities of the 3D internal structure.

Particular attention has been given to the central anatomical channel, designed to effectively relieve perineal pressure. Here the combination of structural cavity and thinning of the 3D mesh minimizes nerve and blood vessel compression, promoting a more comfortable, numb-free ride even on long or technical routes.

TPU: elastic and shape-retaining

The padding of Nomad 3D is made of TPU, a high-performance material. The padding maintains an active and consistent rebound over time.
The saddle responds, adapts, supports.

The TPU reacts in a controlled manner, adapting to the pressure exerted by the cyclist’s weight without collapsing or losing shape. This means the support remains constant even under intense efforts or long stretches in the aero position. The result is a feeling of active support, which translates into greater efficiency and less muscle fatigue.

Functionality and durability

Unlike first-generation 3D saddles, Nomad 3D does not expose the honeycomb structure. The smooth and homogeneous surface makes the saddle more compact and resistant and does not hinder the cyclist’s movement.

The closed structure of the padding also reduces the risk of damage from impacts, abrasions, or accidental snags and does not wear out the inside of the shorts.

A design with attention to detail

As in the base model Nomad FC, the anatomical rear shaping Close Fit – a distinctive touch of Repente saddles – reduces ischial pressure while maintaining posterior support at a high level compared to the central part, which is also relieved by the anatomical channel.

To eliminate the risk of chafing inside the thigh, the Ergo Shape design was used, developed by Repente to ergonomically shape the saddle’s side profile.

RLS: replaceable rails and shell

The carbon unidirectional shell and rail are independent and can be replaced separately, a feature that facilitates product maintenance and, in case of damage, reduces costs and waste material.

It “lights up” under the sun

From an aesthetic point of view, Nomad 3D maintains an understated and clean profile, in line with the taste of those who prefer an elegant and essential look. Yet, while in the light, the pearl white color reveals the internal lattice pattern, creating a unique and distinctive visual effect for the bike’s appearance.
