Selle Italia has partnered with composite specialist Dallara and ex-pro Fabian Cancellara on its latest SLR Boost TEKNO Superflow full-carbon saddle, touting a minimalist, lightweight design that claims to be surprisingly comfortable despite not having any padding.
While full-carbon saddles are nothing new, advancements in composite technology and anatomically-mapping have made them a more viable choice for enthusiasts who are looking for a perch that’s both lightweight and reasonably comfortable.
“As a former professional athlete, I know what professional riders need and I am very proud to have added my contribution to the process of creating this ultra-lightweight saddle, made entirely of carbon, the result of the research and drive by Selle Italia towards increasingly advanced solutions in the cycling sector,” says Cancellara.
The SLR Boost TEKNO Superflow is offered in two sizes, the S3 and L3, which are based on Selle Italia’s ID Match sizing technology, with the S3 featuring a slightly narrower profile than the L3.
According to Selle Italia, the saddles tip the scales at a feathery 95g and 96g, respectively, making them two of the lightest saddles available.
The SLR Boost TEKNO Superflow sells for a hefty $500.00.
