Shimano has launched a new collection of cycling sunglasses comprising the Technium, Technium L and Twinspark, featuring the brand’s RIDESCAPE lens technology.
Offered in six options, RIDESCAPE lenses are treated with a scratch-resistant, water-repellent coating that’s made from BPA-free polyamide material, as well as full UV400 protection.
Here’s the breakdown:
In the case of the Technium, it features a large, full-frame, one-piece cylindrical lens, along with a series of vents on the upper and lower corners in order to enhance airflow and reduce fogging, offering a choice of the RIDESCAPE RD, GR and OR lenses – complete with a spare clear lens and a storage bag.
Additionally, the Technium is made with 45% Arkema Rilsan clear G850 Rnew, a bio-based polyamide material, while the textured temples are angled ever so slightly to avoid fitment problems with some helmet designs. Moreover, the glasses are fitted with a textured rubber nose-piece that’s reversible, allowing the wearer to easily adjust the nose bridge fit based on thickness.
Technium Specs:
The Technium L differentiates itself from the Technium by its half-frame design, otherwise, it features the same materials and choice of lenses, plus a Photochromic Gray option.
Technium L Specs:
The Twinspark is Shimano’s budget-priced model, which features a similar half-frame design as the Technium L, albeit with the RIDESCAPE HC Daylight Vision lens with no additional options.
