It should come as no surprise, following the success of its Red eTap wireless groupset, SRAM has been fast at work developing a hydraulic counterpart to satisfy both the road and cyclocross disc brake adherents.
Indeed, SRAM announced today the introduction of it’s HydroHC wireless groupset, which is slated to become available in October.
The new HydroHC represents the revolution of SRAM’s current HydroR grouspet, to include a new adjustment that allows owners to set the amount of “lever stroke” to where the pistons make contact the rotors – something traditional caliper brake users have longed since wished to see incorporated into disc brake systems.
In addition, the HydroHC brakes will also have reach adjustment feature, just as the current HydroR mechanical-shift levers do.
SRAM says, the Red eTap HydroHC will be available in both post and flat mount caliper options, and will work with existing SRAM Red eTap 11-speed set-ups.
No exact word on pricing as of yet, but SRAM is expected to announce further details as this year’s EuroBike show draws nearer.
