Marcel Kittel (Giant-Alpecin) claimed the opening stage of this year’s Tour de Pologne today, after narrowly beating Caleb Ewan (Orica-GreenEdge during a chaotic twisting and turning sprint finish in Warsaw.
Meanwhile, Niccolo’ Bonifazio (Lampre-Merida) finished in 3rd place, while the rest of the stretched out peloton followed in his path.
Kittel now leads the race, with no time advantage over the rest of the field.
