Matteo Pelucchi (IAM Cycling) claimed his second stage win in as many days at this year’s Tour de Pologne today, as the Italian rider handily beat fellow countryman Giacomo Nizzolo (Trek) in a final surge to the line – while Tom Van Aesbroeck (LottoNl-Jumbo) had to settle for third, after initiating his lead out too early.
Meanwhile, despite losing contact with the lead group during the last kilometer on the final climb of the day, the German rider managed to retain his grip on the overall race lead.
