Happy birthday to Willy Teirlinck who was born on this day in 1948.
The Belgian rider is best known for finishing 2nd in the 1977 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind fellow Belgian and four-time winner Roger De Vlaeminck.
In addition, Teirlinck won a handful of stages in the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana during his career, to include numerous lesser known races throughout his home country and Europe, such as the Grand Prix Pino Cerami, Grand Prix de Fourmies, Tour de Picardie and his country’s National Road Championships in 1975.
