Paul Smith Designs Dubai Tour Jerseys

British fashion icon, Paul Smith, has unveiled his newly commissioned "classification jerseys" for this year’s Dubai Tour.

Smith created the four jerseys in collaboration with Castelli, using the latest materials designed to handle the heat in the United Arab Emirates region.

“I was very pleased to be asked to design the Dubai Tour jerseys having learned a lot from my previous experiences working on the Giro d"Italia,” said Smith.

“There are four jerseys, one for each of the different classifications and a key consideration in the design of each was keeping the riders cool. Working with Castelli, I’ve used a breathable fabric on the front, there’s a full zip that they can open if they need to cool down and on the back it’s got a UV filter fabric.

“The Dubai Tour is becoming increasingly important in the road cycle season and I’m looking forward to watching.”

The four jerseys are: Blue jersey for general classification leader; red jersey for points classification leader; UAE Flag jersey for intermediate sprint classification leader; and white jersey for best young rider.

The 2015 Dubai Tour runs from February 4 to 7, and will feature 4 flats stages that will surely spark some fierce competition amongst many of the world’s best "sprinters".
