Needless to say, winters here in New England can be extremely harsh, relegating even the most diehard of cyclists to indoor riding/training only. Meanwhile, our cyclist friends to the north are embracing whatever snow and cold conditions the season may bring by cycling and living it up à la hotel style.
Indeed, Minneapolis’ boutique hotel, Le Meridien Chambers, which is located in the heart of the city’s theater district, not only offers its clientele a unique, art-themed place to stay, but for the adventurous cyclist, a chance to experience the many bikeways the city has to offer, courtesy of a studded-tire equipped bike.
Thanks to a partnership between Le Meridien and Priority Bicycles, guests can take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary bike program, which keeps a number of the company’s Continuum bikes on-hand.
From there, guests can transverse some of the city’s most scenic locations along the Mississippi River Trail, Cedar Lake Regional Trail and Loring Greenway.
For the even more adventuresome tourist, those routes can be extended to include the Chain of Lakes, Mill Ruins Park, the historic Stone Arch Bridge, Minnehaha Falls and Theodore Wirth Park via the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway trail system.
Additionally, bike tours can be arranged through Minneapolis By Bike, with themed tours to farmers’ markets, taprooms, historic landmarks or iconic sights adjacent to many of the city’s bikeways.
