Cervélo’s Caledonia Gets a Freshening Up

Cervélo has given its Caledonia a bit of a freshening up, increasing tire clearance up to 36mm for the popular all-roader, as well as shedding as much as 53 grams over its predecessor.

“The Caledonia is a high-performance road bike with endurance-oriented geometry that delivers everything you’d expect from us. It’s designed for all-season riders, fondo racers, and those who’ve just been bitten by the cycling bug. Clean, aerodynamic lines, hidden cables, and a highly-tuned carbon fiber layup add up to a bike that’s fast enough for spirited group rides, comfortable enough for all-day efforts, and looks right at home at every coffee stop,” says Cervélo.

Elsewhere, the new Caledonia now supports either fully integrated internal cable routing, or Cervélo’s semi-external set-up, giving DIY’ers a reprieve from finicky cabling, while other notable updates include standard 100×12/142x12mm thru axles and a larger diameter T47 threaded bottom bracket that’s compatible with Shimano 24mm or SRAM DUB 29mm cranksets.

Additionally, gravelers and bikepackers will rejoice knowing there are now provisions for mudguards that can be paired with tires up to a hefty 34mm, further adding to the bike’s Swiss Army Knife capabilities.

It’s also worth mentioning, that Cervélo decided to tweak the Caledonia’s geometry ever-so slightly, adding just one millimeter to the fork rake, as well as the front-to-center wheelbas, dialing in a tad more stability across all six sizes.

Pricing for the refreshed Caledonia starts at $3,300, up to $6,500 for the ranging-topping model, with build options that span a Shimano 105 Di2 groupset to SRAM Force AXS, with different wheelset options from Reserve and Vision along the way.
