Embraced by enthusiasts and pro riders alike, Deda has revamped its popular one-piece Alanera handlebar with a new lighter, full-monocoque version called the RS, treating it to a reshaped profile that’s 5mm thinner along tops, while adopting a truncated aerofoil shape instead of the previous angular quadrilateral, resulting in a claimed 3.9W at 40 km/h and up to a 15.5W reduction at 60 km/h race speeds.
Additionally, the Alanera RS features 6° of flare in the drops with the goal of creating more forearm space during sprints, plus 10° of shifter inclination to improve hand aerodynamics, while Deda’s Rapid Hand Movement EVO shape claims to promote a smoother transition from the hoods to the tops thanks to better forearm support.
Also, the drop has been decreased by 10mm to 120mm, creating a more compact set-up.
Offered in 13 sizes, the Alanera RS sells for 795€, which includes a matching aero top cap, headset spacers, 2 DCR headset covers and an out-front computer mount.
