After more than a four-year collaborative R&D project with professional riders and teams, ENVE has unveiled its latest M Series of wheelsets, promising “a new a new benchmark for performance off-road wheels”.
Spanning four different models, the M Series now features a unique rim shape courtesy of a new carbon layup process, while things spin on ENVE’s own INNERDRIVE hubs, boasting customizable engagement via judgement rings that range from 40t (9°), 60t (6°), 80t (4.5°), or 100t (3.6°) ratchets.
The series comprises the M5, M6, M8 and M9, which are differentiated based on the style of riding and discipline.
“With each new generation of the M Series, we set objectives to improve performance over the previous generation. This new M Series focuses on ride quality without sacrificing reliability and toughness. Every detail has been explored to ensure this latest generation M Series is the best riding wheel on the trail or between the tape,” says Jake Pantone, VP of Product at ENVE.
Here’s how the models breakdown:
Elsewhere, the M Series features premium-grade stainless steel bearings for high performance and low maintenance, with the M5 and M6 models fitted with straight-pull center lock hub shells, while the M8 and M9 models use a j-bend hub shell that’s available in both center lock and 6-bolt.
Like all ENVE rims, the new M Series is handmade in Ogden, Utah, which sell for $2,300 across all models and come with a five-year warranty.
