Up until now, the ABUS Aventor helmet wasn’t available on these shores. However, after meeting USA safety and certification standards, the German brand recently introduced its lightweight lid to the American market.
As one can glean from the images, the Aventor features copious amounts of ventilation, with a countless number of large vents sandwiched within a composite, polystyrene endoskeleton, while diagonal reinforcements run along both sides of the helmet for added strength and protection.
Adjustment comes courtesy of ABUS’ Zoom Ace retention system, which relies on a simple dial at the back of the helmet for fining tuning fit. There’s even a “ponytail” outlet for riders with long hair.
While the Aventor won’t win any weight weenies awards at 264g (size medium), the helmet feels light. In fact, it feels very light.
The Aventor is available in small, medium and large, along with an array of different colors for $179.99.
We’ll be reviewing the Aventor in the coming weeks.
Until then, you can learn more by visiting ABUS’ website here.
