Knog understands that your bike is a prized possession and leaving it unattended, even when secured, can be risky. To put the minds of bike owners at ease, Knog offers the Scout, which provides unparalleled security by combining an extremely loud 85db alarm, along with Apple’s “Find My” app for extremely accurate relocation services.
Arming or disarming the Scout alarm can be achieved in two ways: via the button on the side of the device when connected to an iPhone that’s nearby (< 1.5 m), or via the Knog app when the device is within Bluetooth range.
For overt protection, owners can use the neon yellow silicone cover provided, or for more discreet security, the Scout can be attached to the bike via the bottle cage mounts using the supplied tamper-proof security screws without the cover.
Also, the Scout’s shallow profile and compact design allow for it to be discretely bolted and hidden underneath a bottle cage. This is a great way to keep Scout hidden.
The Scout features dual-function LEDs that show at a glance if the Scout is armed, while the same LEDs display the charge status of the battery.
Once armed, any movement of a Scout-fitted bike will trigger the motion-sensitive audio alarm, discouraging further movement and alerting the bike’s owner, both by the sound of the alarm and via a notification automatically sent to the owner’s iPhone (when in Bluetooth range).
In cases where an owner has misplaced his or her bike, the Scout can quickly locate it using Apple’s “Find My” app.
