La Passione Partners with Tom Boonen on New Boonenberg Collection

La Passione has partnered with cycling great Tom Boonen on a new collection of apparel aptly called the Boonenberg.

For those unfamiliar with the retired Belgian pro, Boonen is renown for winning multiple One-Day Classics races, most notably for his attacks along the famous cobbled climbs of the Tour of Flanders like the Taaienberg – thus the nickname Boonenberg.

The Boonenberg collection comprises two jerseys and two bibshorts aimed at what the Italian brand describes as “the perfect balance between comfort and performance through the most advanced technology.”

The TB3 Jersey features a V-neckline, raw-cut sleeves and raglan shoulders made from light fabric for ideal body-mapping and ventilation, while the TB4 jersey is aimed at further cheating the wind thanks to what La Passione describes as being “made of aero fabric for maximum air penetration with mesh sleeves that are designed to release heat and increase breathability”.

The TB3 bibshort consists of a multi-panel construction and mesh back to “ensure a perfect anatomic fit and ventilation”, along with Elastic Interface’s braces and Cytech pad for excellent comfort, while the TB4 bibshort features a similar design, but with thicker 7.5cm elastic grippers on the hem for an even more “cobble grip”.

The jerseys sell for $150 and $156 respectively, while the bibshorts fetch $176 and $188.
