Known for its bespoke cycling apparel, the French-sounding, British-owned, Italian-based company, Le Col, has launched its first model of cycling shoes aptly called the Le Col Pro Carbon.
According to Le Col, its new cycling kicks feature a specially contoured PU upper that’s designed to move with the rider’s foot during maximum pedaling effort in order to ensure optimal comfort and support at all times.
“The upper delivers support, comfort and protection to your feet as you ride. Balancing breathability and durability, this shoe is composed of a perforated microfibre upper. Retaining it’s shape over time and providing a comfort thanks to a low profile tongue and a mapped heel, you can ride with a personalised feel. Reflective detailing and minimal branding finish this crisp white pair of shoes”, says Le Col’s founder Yanto Barker.
Other features that highlight the Le Col Pro Carbon are a low-profile, unidirectional carbon sole with an integrated channel for enhanced cooling, a pair of Atop dials for properly tensioning fit, washable EVA insoles and plenty of mesh material to further keep the rider’s feet cool during hot-weather riding conditions.
“Rigidity has been key in the development of the Le Col Pro Road Shoes. Transferring your power directly into your pedals, the carbon fibre sole keeps weight low without introducing flex. Ventilated for high paced efforts on still summer days, the sole makes sure that your temperature is regulated as you ride. Providing a solid platform for your sprints, the sole is equipped with a classic three bolt cleat mounting system and of course, walking pads, allowing you to keep these shoes cafe-stop friendly.”
“Your shoes are not only the principle point of contact with your bike, but some of the most personal items in a cyclist’s kit. Stylish, well made shoes have been something I’ve always sought after, and knowing what’s needed, I decided we would make our own. Classically styled, carbon soled, and closed with dials, the Le Col Pro Carbon Road Shoes offer elite rigidity, micro adjustment, and a clean uncomplicated look”, adds Barker.
Le Col claims the new shoes weigh in at a feathery 545g for a pair in size 43, which puts them on par with other premium cycling shoes.
The Le Col Pro Carbon is available in limited sizes only from 43 to 45, which retail for a tad under $320.00.
