Rudy Project Celebrates 40th Anniversary with 3D-Printed “Performance 40” Titanium Glasses

Rudy Project has unveiled its newest 3D-printed Performance 40 titanium glasses, which fetch a whopping €950,00.

The shades are nod to the brand’s founder, Rudy Barbazza who was widely regarded as trailblazer in the performance eyewear segment back in the day, thus the name Performance 40.

As mentioned, the Performance 40 features a hollow titanium frame that’s created via additive manufacturing, tipping the scales at scant 36 grams.

“The past inspires, the future innovates: these sunglasses celebrate an iconic model that defined an era, carrying forward its soul and design while using cutting-edge materials and technologies,” says Simone Barbazza, marketing and sustainability director at Rudy Project.

“It’s a tribute to our past and to the people – my father above all – who paved the way for us. Performance 40 is our way of looking ahead while honoring the journey behind us. It represents the long story of a brand with its eyes set firmly on the future,” she adds

Elsewhere, the glasses are fitted with toric lens that are etched with the Rudy Project logo, Barbazza’s signature and the individual number of each piece.

The Performance 40 is limited to just 100 pairs.
