Sidi has launched its latest road shoe called the Fast that’s aimed squarely at the mid-level market.
In order to keep costs down, the Fast features the Italian brand’s carbon composite sole, Techno-3 closure dial and a microfibre upper.
The Techno-3 system relies on a single dial for tensioning, compared to the twin dial set-up found on Sidi’s more expensive models. It further reduces cost by incorporating a carbon composite sole instead of a full carbon version.
Additionally, Sidi says its microfiber upper is eco-friendly, which eliminates harmful solvents and materials.
“This drastically decreases the environmental footprint and the harmful emissions in the air and in the manufacturing plant,” explains Sidi.
Sidi Fast is limited to just black or white, and sells for £166.54 ($167.45), while sizes are offered in 42, 43, 43.5, 44, 44.5, and 46.
Microtech:
Incorporates features of resistance, stability, lightness, transpirability, water-repellency and eco-friendliness. It is manufactured using the “Water-Tech” water treatment. Lower environmental impact, less noxious emissions into the air and into the work environment and the fact that not solvents, but water-based products were used, is beneficial to the environment as well as the final user.
Tecno-3:
Sidi’s Techno-3 System dials in fit along the entire length of the shoe, adapting the upper to the shape of the foot for a customized fit. Sidi’s famously reliable and replaceable closures are improved by an all new proprietary Sidi Wire material that is completely non-binding for intuitive and effortless on-the-fly adjustments. Like most Sidi small parts, the Tecno-3 Buckle is serviceable and replaceable.
Carbon Composite Sole:
The Carbon Composite Sole is in nylon and injected carbon fiber. The nylon keeps the technical features unchanged over time. The result is a light and stiff sole. The central part of the sole is graduated, with millimetric scale, to facilitate the correct fixing of the cleats. Equipped with replaceable polyurethane heel.
