Swiss Start-Up Jespr Enters the Bike Computer Segment

Jespr has entered the bike computer segment with the launch of a new device that offers “always on” internet connection via an internal SIM card, as well as a host of functions that include advanced mapping, navigation capabilities and specific ride modes developed in partnership with professional riders and coaches. The Swiss start-up also says its new computer can automatically re-route riders, send them course notifications, detect climbs and provide a topographical view alongside wind information.

Additionally, Jespr says its new computer connects “seamlessly” with ride sensors, including heart rate monitors and power meters, along with the ability to derive and estimate live power output values from other ride data, while the computer can also connect with bike radars to show approaching traffic on the display.

The computer is also supported by the my.Jespr.io platform, which facilitates over-the-air route and training plan synchronization that’s compatible with “all of the major players” including Strava, TrainingPeaks and Komoot.

Jespr says its bike computer is available now, which sells for €570 ($620), with new customers receiving a free data plan for the “always on” internet until the end of 2025. After that, subscriptions will start around €5 per month.
