As far as trioBike is concerned, urban mobility isn’t just for one age group alone. 

Indeed, the new trioBike Taxi is designed to provide urban mobility for city-dwellers of the older persuasion, in a practical and stylish platform that’s both easy to pilot and provides excellent comfort and safety. 

With 90 centimeters of interior room, the passenger seating is among the most spacious available, while its ergonomic design ensures a very relaxed and comfortable sitting position as well. The designers of the trioBike Taxi say it’s much more than just a simple bike taxi however. Rather it’s more like “a couch on wheels” which draws its inspiration from some of the most iconic Scandinavian furniture. 

For example, the front box itself is made from bent plywood by a design studio in Germany that’s renown for collaborating with such famous furniture designers as Hans Jørgen Wegner, Ray & Charles Eames and Tadao Ando. Furthermore, the seat is manufactured in Denmark by the same company that produces cushioning for Arne Jacobsen’s famous Egg and Swan chairs.

The trioBike Taxi also offers a spacious storage box beneath the seat, which can provide enough space for 70 liters of cargo.

As far as protecting passengers from the elements is concerned, the trioBike Taxi’s permanently attached hood can be easily opened or retracted in order to shield voyagers from the effects of rain or too much sun. In addition, ample windows ensure that passengers will always enjoy a good view around them when the top is up. 

Safety was also an important factor that went into the design of the trioBike Taxi as well, providing seat belts for up to two passengers, or allowing one passenger to sit in the middle while still being belted.  

Thanks to the Danish built Promovec e-power system, the trioBike Taxi can navigate its way along virtually any type of urban terrain, while providing enough power and range to conquer even the most challenging hills with a range of up to 40 kilometers on a single charge.
