Ursus has introduced two new disc brake specific carbon wheelsets called the Miura C37 and Miura C50, offering both clincher and tubeless ready applications.
As their model names imply, the new wheelsets feature rim depths of 37mm and 50mm respectively, along with Ursus’ recently launched RD30 aluminum hubs with SKG or optional CeramicSpeed bearings.
Both wheelsets are optimized for 25mm tires and up, comprising 24 front and rear Sapim J-bend spokes with external locking nipples, center lock disc brake mounts and 100×12 thru axles up front and 142 x 12 mm thru axles in the rear that are compatible with Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo free-hub bodies.
The C37 wheelset weighs in at 1600g (710g/890g), while their deeper brethren tip the scales at 1730 (780g/950g).
“We decided to reposition C50 and C37, extending the range with their adaptation for disc braking systems,” explains Mirko Ferronato, the CEO of Ursus. “The rims in the 37 and 50 millimeter Disc version are made of carbon monocoque with UD finish. The hub contains another feature in Ursus’s evolution process; namely RD30, a new pair of hubs with flanges for disc brakes that are totally Made in Italy”.
The Miura C37 and Miura C50 sell for €1,100 and €1,180, which come complete with Ursus wheel bags, extension valves and skewers.
