Ventum has launched the latest version of its NS1 flagship aero bike, touting less weight, greater stiffness and an improved aerodynamic signature thanks to a new front end design.
Now in its third generation, the NS1 gets its improved wind cheating capabilities by capitalizing on the same fuselage found on Ventum’s Tempus TT bike, featuring a new head tube that now extends beyond the steerer, resulting in a more streamlined leading edge that’s designed to reduce frontal drag, while the depth of the fork legs has also been increased in order to better guide airflow around the front wheel.
As mentioned, the NS1 was also put on a diet, shedding as much as 200 grams courtesy of a new carbon lay-process, while stiffness has also been bolstered, especially in the areas of the head tube and bottom bracket, now tipping the scales at an impressive 853 grams in a size M/L.
Additionally, Ventum decided the tweak the geometry on the NS1 as well, adding slightly taller stack heights across all sizes, allowing riders to more effectively balance aerodynamics and comfort.
The new NS1 is available as a frameset only for $3,600, or as a complete bike with build options that span SRAM Rival for $5,500, up to the range-topping model that’s fitted with a Shimano Dura Ace Di2 groupset for $11,300.
Customers can also opt for choices in Zipp wheels, Fizik saddles and cockpits from either Zipp or Ventum, while three new striking colorways, AeroChrome, Limoncello and Onyx, have been added to the range.
